On October 25, 2024, Keeler Women’s Center (KWC) was honored with the Mark Dupree/Mayor Tyrone Garner Dedicated Service Award from Friends of Yates, a community-based agency offering shelter, services, and programs for domestic violence survivors in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
Director Bridget Dickason, OSB, and KWC received this award “for their continuous work providing hope for the future of survivors of domestic violence and their dependent children.” For years, KWC has hosted a twice-monthly domestic violence support group. KWC also provides assistance to persons needing help with utility payments and rent deposits, distributes hygiene products, and donates books from discussion groups to Friends of Yates.
“We are grateful for the many ways that Friends of Yates supports domestic violence survivors and are glad we can support their efforts at Keeler Women’s Center.”
