Keeler Women’s Center
All are welcome!
Welcome to the Keeler Women’s Center! We thank you for your interest in our ministry and hope to serve you soon.
OUR MISSION IS to empower women in the urban core through education, advocacy, and personal & spiritual development.
Welcoming everyone as Christ
As a ministry of the The Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, our work at Keeler Women’s Center continues their mission, though in a different format. We partner and work with more than 100 volunteers who donate their time to make a difference in the lives of others.
“I am so grateful for all the positive changes I’ve seen in me and my family. I volunteer now to help others in need as I once was. I now feel like I have purpose.”
– Spanish Programming Volunteer
Ripples of hope and change
Through our programs and services, we see firsthand how women become instruments of change in their families and neighborhoods. When we help a woman learn to read or speak English, manage her health or finances, or start a business, we see her create ripples of hope and change that lift up her children and her community.
What can we do for you?
We invite you to come and visit! Since hospitality is one of our Benedictine charisms, at Keeler you will always find fresh flowers, hot coffee, cold water and something to eat. Many of our visitors only seek a moment of peace and tranquility as they enjoy a bit of conversation or a good book. We try to have a great variety of books that our clients can borrow or take for free.

“Ora et labora” — Prayer & Work
In the spirit of “ora et labora,” prayer and work, we offer spiritual direction and a quiet place for prayer alone or in a group. You can write your petitions in a book in our prayer space and we will pray for your intentions. You can also send prayer requests to our monastery in Atchison, Kansas.
