A Prayerful Podcast

Sister Helga Leija began hosting the podcast “Orando los Salmos desde el Monasterio” (Praying the Psalms from the Monastery) on August 15, 2022. With 95 episodes recorded and published, she has journeyed up to Psalm 95.

The concept of the podcast is simple: Sister Helga prays each psalm in Spanish, accompanied by soft instrumental music. It began as a personal prayer practice but has unexpectedly grown.

The first time Sister Helga reviewed the analytics for the podcast, she was surprised to find that it had listeners in 47 countries.The audience is mostly between the ages of 28 and 44. She believes this simple mission of sharing the psalms is filling a void. Sister Helga also observed that psalms seeking protection — such as 54, 64, 57, and 60 — are among the most frequently played. She says,

“I am deeply touched to know that my prayer resonates with people around the world even though we have never met. I am grateful that my voice can connect with so many.”
