Keeler Women’s Center Honors Its Volunteers

L-R: Sister Maria Nguyen, Brenda Mortell, Dr. Chiquita Miller, Sister Bridget Dickason, Lynnette Booker, and Sabrina Boyd.
Every year, the Keeler Women’s Center (KWC) volunteer recognition celebration is held at local places rooted in the history of the Kansas City
metro area. On Friday, April 4, 2025, KWC celebrated more than 65 volunteers and community partners at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Volunteers enjoyed visiting Farm Town USA buildings depicting pioneer life. The exhibition includes a hatchery, blacksmith shop, and general store, as well as a replica of an 1890s home and the one-room Island Creek school house, which was built in 1917.
KWC is blessed with professional and community volunteers and partnerships with local community organizations. Many sisters of the Mount, along with several Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, offer spiritual direction, retreats, and classes at KWC. Other programs, including ESL tutoring, are offered by Mount oblates; others assist with weekly receptionist work. We are grateful for everyone’s contributions!
