Scheduled Retreats & Workshops
Sophia Center offers a wide variety of programming designed to foster spiritual and personal growth. Grounded in the rich monastic tradition of prayer and hospitality, women and men of all faiths who are searching for God, for peace and for meaning in their lives, are welcome.
Individual Private Retreats
At this time, we are accepting reservations for private retreats in St. Cecilia’s and the Just Bee Hermitage. We ask all guests to use their best judgment and if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms, to please be tested and/or refrain from coming on retreat out of respect for other retreatants and staff. While masks are not required, we will have them on hand for anyone who wishes to wear one. We will continue to monitor our county COVID numbers.
The sisters keep Sabbath from Sunday noon through Monday evening, so ordinarily, no guests are received during that time.

Massage, Reflexology or Contemplative Healing Touch
Massage is one of the best means available for reducing stress, a contributor to disease. Each session becomes a form of contemplative prayer as an atmosphere of peace and deep relaxation is created. Touch is used to help express God’s love and to support each individual’s needs for growth, healing and well-being. Sister Linda Zahner, OSB, is available by appointment. We ask all guests to use their best judgment and if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms, to please be tested and/or refrain from coming out of respect for others and staff. While masks are not required, we will have them on hand for anyone who wishes to wear one. For more information, to schedule an appointment or to take advantage of one of these services, call her at 913.426.3363.
