Benedictine Promises for Everyday People (a 3-week book discussion series)
Benedictine Promises for Everyday People (a 3-week book discussion series)
January 12, 2027 @ 7:00 am – 8:00 am CST

What might the wisdom of St. Benedict have to offer us in the midst of our everyday lives?
Join us on Zoom for a three-week conversation centered on Benedictine Promises for Everyday People by Rachel M. Srubas. Together, we will explore how Benedictine spirituality can shape the ways we live, listen, pray, work, and relate to one another.
Whether you are a longtime oblate, are just beginning to explore the Rule of St. Benedict, or are simply curious about Benedictine spirituality, you are warmly welcome. No previous experience with the Rule is necessary. All you need is a willingness to read, reflect, and share in conversation with others.
Rather than approaching the book as something to master, we will take time to consider how its wisdom meets us where we are and what it might invite us to practice in our daily lives.
This book discussion also offers an opportunity to begin engaging with the work of Rachel M. Srubas, who will be the speaker at the Oblate Institute in June 2027 here at Mount St Scholastica.
Come as you are, bring your questions and experiences, and join us as we discover together what Benedictine wisdom might mean for everyday people.
*If you would like us to order and send the book to you, please make note in your registration, and we will add an additional $15 to your invoice.
Please register for the series by January 9.
After we receive your registration, you can expect to receive a confirmation email from us which will include your invoice. We never want our retreat costs to be prohibitive to anyone who wants to attend our programs and so we offer scholarships. Fill out our simple scholarship request form now!
