Work Progresses on New Elevator

In April 2026, Kearney Construction Company began laying the groundwork for a new four-story elevator located on the northwest side of the monastery. Our current elevator, which was built in the late 1930s and updated in the 1980s, is still functional but has frequent breakdowns and won’t accommodate a stretcher, so we are looking forward to the new addition.

As the new, larger elevator is built, renovations also will be made to add bathrooms and laundry facilities on the north end of the monastery, as well as a gathering space across the hall from the Choir Chapel on the first floor. It is anticipated that most of the work will be completed by the end of the year.
