Today we honor St. Francis Xavier, one of the Church’s great missionaries. Born in Spain and formed by St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis carried the Gospel across India, Japan, and the islands of Southeast Asia. He traveled by boat, walked village paths, learned new languages, and welcomed every person he met with patience and courage. His heart burned with the desire to bring Christ’s love to those who had never heard His name. May St. Francis inspire us to step beyond what feels comfortable and share faith through simple kindness, joy, and openness to the people placed in our path.
