Statement on Political Discord and Violence

We, the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, are grieved by the rising political discord in our country and the violence it is inciting. Our prayers go out to the victims and family members of those who have been killed and injured for their political views. We pray, too, for a renewed desire among us to share differing opinions respectfully and to preserve our nation’s commitment to the health and welfare of all.  We call on our political leaders to lead the way by showing respect and kindness in all that they say and do. May Christ be between us in every encounter.
