As Benedictine monastic women, we are rooted in Gospel values of peace and nonviolence. Our Benedictine way of life requires us not only to be people of peace but also to advocate for peace in the world around us. In 2013, the Conference of Benedictine Prioresses published a statement for the prevention of gun violence. In light of the recent incidents of gun violence related to racism and sexism, we reiterate what was said in that statement and stand with the LCWR in their recent statement against racism and misogyny.
