Sister Patricia Gamgort, OSB
Sister Patricia ministered as a teacher in Delaware; provided outreach to the poor through St. Martin’s Ministries, Ridgely, Maryland; participated in monastic study programs in Europe and the Holy Land with other Benedictine prioresses; and spent many summers with hundreds of English-speaking Benedictines in Rome.
She transfered to the Mount from Ridgely in 2016. At the Mount, she has served in vocation ministry, as director of pastoral care with the sisters in Dooley Center and in the monastery’s food pantries. She also volunteered at Catholic Charities in Atchison, Kansas.
In her spare time, she enjoys listening to and singing Neapolitan favorites, embroidering dish towels for the gift shop, and challenging herself with word games.
