The Holy in Poetry—Exploring How the Poet Conveys the Divine
April is national poetry month, so embark with us on a four week series exploring how the divine shines through poetry.
Poetry distills pieces of truth we have discovered in the living of life. In its succinct, vivid language, poetry gives us space to SENSE the truth before intellectually acknowledging it. Poetry often reveals what is sacred and holy, thus speaking of the divine whether the poet names God or not. Poetry selections will include writings from poets such as Mary Oliver, John O’Donohue, Hafiz, and Rainer Maria Rilke.
