Program Offerings

A Message from the Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, January 13, 2021

One of the first groups in Kansas to receive the vaccine is nursing homes and those who work with them.  Because of our interaction with Dooley Center, our care center, all of our sisters were able to receive their first COVID vaccination.  This is a step in the process toward allowing us to open up more.  Until more people are able to receive their vaccination, however, we will continue to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and local health departments, especially since cases of COVID-19 continue to escalate around the country.  Our tentative opening date remains June 1, 2021.  We will update you on any changes to this plan.

A Message from S. Carol Ann

We are grateful for your continued support and prayers during this time. We miss you very much and look forward to the day when guests will walk through our front doors again. We continue to pray that all of you remain safe and stay well.
Meanwhile, we are pleased to offer a full schedule of retreats via Zoom that we hope will meet your spiritual needs at this time. Whether you are “zoomed out,” ready and eager for your next Zoom gathering, or a novice at “zooming,” we invite you to consider joining us. If you are new to Zoom or feel a little uncomfortable using it, someone on our staff is available to assist you. The gift of the virtual platform is that anyone can attend. We have had participants from as far away as Kuwait and Australia, and it’s also wonderful to see faces we recognize from our own back yard. Evaluations completed at the end of our Zoom retreats indicate that we are doing an excellent job of enriching the lives of those we serve.
For our Zoom offerings, we ask only for a free-will donation. We know these are difficult times for some people and want to welcome everyone to join us, even those who can’t make a donation at this time. We trust that persons who might be able to pay more will be willing to help as they are able.
Please continue to join us in prayers of gratitude and prayers of healing and support for all persons who are fighting this disease and are working to contain and ultimately defeat it.
Come, let us welcome you to our Zoom screen!
