Catholic Women's Day, a bilingual Benedictine experience (on-site, for Spanish and English speakers)

For women 18 years and older. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare.
Because brunch will be catered, it is very important for us to have accurate numbers. Please be sure and register no later than Sunday, April 7th.
 

Immerse yourself in the hospitality and spirituality of the Benedictine sisters. This Benedictine experience will include Mass with the sisters, a catered brunch, and contemplative experiences. Join us and be a part of this prayerful, enriching experience that transcends any English-Spanish language barriers and gives us the opportunity to unite as one in our Catholic faith and in our gratitude for one another.

After you have submitted your registration, we will send you confirmation via email. We strongly encourage you to add sophia@mountosb.org to your email contacts, to ensure the delivery of important information relevant to your retreat. Mary Kay Whitacre is a 2005 graduate of Souljourners and has been on the Souljourners staff since 2005. She has worked in pastoral ministry in the Catholic Church for more than 40 years. She has a master’s degree from Seattle University and has recently received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Seattle University. Mary Kay, who is Associate Director of Souljourners, provides spiritual direction and supervision and leads a variety of retreats.

Karla Melgar is a Consultant for the Office of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. She is originally from San Salvador, El Salvador. Karla earned her degree as a Dental Surgeon in 1998 from the National University of El Salvador. She holds a certification from the Franciscan University of Steubenville as Parish Catechetical Leader in 2021. In addition, she has earned other certifications from Instituto Fe y Vida and the School of Faith for the Archdiocese of Kansas. She is married with four children and is an active member of St. Paul Parish in Olathe, Kansas. Karla is bilingual and has a lot of experience working in the fields of evangelization, catechesis, leadership, and spiritual mentorship, helping others to find Christ in their everyday lives through spiritual accompaniment.
