Frances Xavier Cabrini was the first United States citizen to be canonized and is the patron saint of immigrants. She also founded nearly 70 institutions to help immigrants and to care for the sick and abandoned.
Fun Fact: St. Frances Cabrini visited Mount St. Scholastica in 1902, and she is the first U.S. citizen to be canonized a saint!
