The Feast of Saint Ignatius

St. Ignatius, an early bishop and disciple of the apostles, courageously witnessed to Christ during times of persecution. On his journey to martyrdom in Rome, he wrote letters encouraging Christians to remain faithful, united, and rooted in love. His deep desire was to be fully united with Christ, even in suffering. Ignatius is the patron saint of the Church in the Eastern Mediterranean and of those who seek courage in faith. His writings still strengthen believers today, reminding us that true discipleship may cost us everything, but it leads to eternal life in Christ.
