Dooley Center
Ministering to the needs of our aging sisters at Mount St. Scholastica Monastery…
“Care of the sick must rank above and before all else, so that they may truly be served as Christ…”
The Rule of St. Benedict, Chapter 36
As part of living out our Benedictine values and respecting the dignity of all human beings from conception until death, our Mount St. Scholastica community chose to establish a facility specifically designed to care for the aging and infirm sisters within our monastic community. And so it was that in 1971, Dooley Center—named after one of our prioresses—was founded. When a sister moves from the monastery into Dooley, in addition to being able to continue a life of communal prayer and partaking in the Eucharist, she is offered a wide variety of activities in which she can participate. All the while she remains deeply connected to the sisters and community she has been a faithful part of for so many years.
***For those who may be seeking care for an elderly loved one, please know that, regrettably, we are not able to offer space to those outside of our monastic community.***
