St. Lucy shines as a witness of steadfast faith during the early centuries of the Church. Her name means “light,” and her courage reflects that meaning. St. Lucy chose Christ above wealth, status, and even personal safety. Although threatened for her beliefs, she remained firm, trusting God completely. Her story has inspired Christians for generations, especially during the dark days of winter when hope can feel dim. Today we ask her to guide us toward the true Light who never fades. May her feast strengthen our resolve to live with clarity, integrity, and compassion for those who struggle.
