End of the year gifts – it’s a win – win

Special $300 – $600 tax deduction helps most people give to charity this year – even if they don’t itemize

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Service today reminded taxpayers of a special new provision that will allow more people to easily deduct up to $300 per individual or $600 per couple in donations to qualifying charities this year.

Following special tax law changes made earlier this year, cash donations of up to $300 per individual and $600 per couple made before Dec. 31, 2021, are now deductible when people file their taxes in 2022.

For tax purposes all end of year giving donations must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2021. On-line giving must be dated by Dec. 31, 2021.

Check the irs.gov website for more information.
