Sister Mary Ellen Auffert

Sister Mary Ellen (Mary Savio) ministered in elementary education in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri. She also served as head teacher for 12 of those years in Nebraska.

She was audio visual director, worked in campus ministry and oversaw housing at Benedictine College. Her ministry took her to Brazil for 11 years, where she provided catechetical formation for teachers, managed a book store and created a catechetical library for the parish schools.

She has ministered with pro-life and pro-family issues for Human Life International.
 
She continues to maintain a ham radio license.
 
Up until the pandemic, she coordinated a group making cord rosaries for the missions, while also sending small religious articles and pictures with students on their mission trips. She is currently involved with internal ministries and prayer, and serves as sacristan at Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
 
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and working with flowers.
