Sister Maria’s first ministry as a Benedictine was with the elderly in a parish.  She then spent several years as co-dorm director for Mount St. Scholastica Academy. 

Since that time, she has served in social service in several hospitals, including Kansas City Dialysis & Kidney in Kansas City, Missouri, where she currently works. 

Sister Maria is very involved in Kansas City’s Vietnamese parish and works with the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement.  She was also a presenter at a conference at CTU on  ”  Engaging our Diversity: Interculturality and Consecrated Life.”

She received the Donaghey Award for Outstanding Service to Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa, where she has served on their Board of Trustees for many years.
