Sister Linda Zahner

I was born in Shawnee, Kansas, the oldest of eight children. I was taught and inspired by Benedictine Sisters at St Joseph Grade and High School. I wanted to follow in their footsteps and entered the community after graduating from high school in 1960.

As a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica, I have worked in education as a teacher, administrator, and executive officer for a consolidated Catholic school system. In 1996, I received my certification as a spiritual director and retreat director from the Creighton Spirituality Program. I completed massage therapy training at the Universal College of Healing Arts in Omaha, Nebraska, passing my national boards in 1999, and am also a certified Eden Energy Medicine clinical practitioner. Within the monastic community and at Sophia Spirituality Center I guide retreats and offer therapeutic massages and contemplative healing touch, promoting a holistic approach to health and wellbeing of body, mind, and spirit.
