Sister Linda Herndon
I grew up in north Missouri and graduated from high school in Kearney, Missouri. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University, I entered Mount St. Scholastica. I always felt “at home” at the Mount and was attracted to the sisters’ community life and to their morning and evening praise that is so central to their lives together.
After teaching middle school for ten years in Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas, I earned an M.S. in Computer Science and later a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology. I taught computer science and mathematics at Benedictine College for 20 years and for the last 12 years have served as Associate Academic Dean and chaplain of the women’s soccer team. I enjoy crocheting, growing houseplants and watching them bloom, and walking outside when the weather is nice.
