Dorothy entered the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica as a postulant in January 2022, and was received into the novitiate in February 2023.

She earned bachelor degrees in French and business management from Benedictine College, later returning to college and becoming a registered nurse. She used those skills on three mission trips to Columbia and two to Mexico.

She worked as a nurse in the Dooley Center and, inspired by the Sisters, discerned her vocation.

She is actively engaged in her formation, taking classes on the history of Mount St. Scholastica and other facets of monastic life.
