Compassion as a Way of Life (on-site)

September 13-14 2024 | Friday, 7:00 p.m.-Saturday, 3:00 p.m. CDT

facilitated by Mark Lepper

Cost: $175

This retreat will be an opportunity to foster compassion toward others, the world, and ourselves. We will explore compassion as a tender yet powerful inner capacity that helps encourage well-being and overcome divisions. We will develop insights, learn practical skills, and grow in trust as we discern unique ways to cultivate compassion in our lives and communities.

An evening social will be held on Friday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Please plan to join and meet your fellow retreatants.

Please register by September 6. Once we have received your registration, we will send you an invoice for the retreat. Please know we have scholarships available; if you would like to make a request, email S. Carol Ann at sophia@mountosb.org. We strongly encourage you to add sophia@mountosb.org to your email contacts to ensure the delivery of emails regarding your retreat.

Mark serves as the Hospitality Coordinator at Sophia Center. He spent 12 years learning about compassion from some great teachers as a live-in assistant with adults with developmental disabilities in L’Arche Heartland in Overland Park, Kansas. He is an Oblate of the Mount, as well as a third year student in the Souljourners spiritual direction formation program. He is a certified facilitator of the Boundless Compassion program, founded by S. Joyce Rupp.
