You can’t take it with you is a time honored truth. One of our friends died and we received a notice that we were listed as beneficiary of her bank accounts.  She designated Mount St. Scholastica as payable on death beneficiary of her accounts. In doing this she helped our community and she avoided probate on her bank accounts.  POD accounts are available for checking and saving accounts, money markets and certificates of deposit.
