Sister Rose Marie Stallbaumer
I grew up on a farm near Seneca, Kansas, the 6th of 7 children. Having been taught by the Benedictine Sisters while attending grade and high school at St Benedict, Kansas, I was drawn to the Benedictines and joined the community shortly after graduation. I continued my education at Mount St Scholastica College and later earned a masters in educational administration from Peabody College in Nashville. My first twenty years of ministry were in elementary education in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kansas City, Kansas, Atchison and Mission, Kansas. In 1988 I returned to the monastery to serve in the business office where I have been the community treasurer since 2000. Opportunities to assist the Benedictine Sisters in Brazil, Mexico, and Africa with accounting and financial planning has enriched my life and broadened my horizons. I enjoy reading historical fiction, going outdoors for walks, and spending time with family and friends. The presence, support and prayer of our Benedictine community nourishes me daily.
