Sister Rita ministered by teaching elementary language and as a parish director of religious education and faith formation at all levels. Then, she served the Kansas City-St. Joseph diocese as a canon lawyer. She  continues to minister as a spiritual director.

She enjoys reading, swimming, and listening to classical and Broadway show music.
