Sister Rita Killackey
My lifelong values were formed in Chicago through my loving parents and faith-filled Catholic family of two brothers. After two years of living in New York, my family moved to Tulsa, Ok, just in time for me to begin college at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison. Impressed by the lived Benedictine values and strong community experience at the Mount, I felt called to enter the community in 1965.
In terms of ministry, I taught elementary language arts for several years, was a parish director of religious education and faith formation at all levels for over twenty-five years, became a Canon lawyer for the Kansas City-St. Joseph diocese for over seventeen years, and continue to minister as a spiritual director. A lifelong learner, I enjoy reading, swimming, and listening to classical and Broadway show music.
