Sister Rita Claire Judge

Sister Rita Claire initially ministered as an elementary school teacher in rural areas of Kansas, Missouri and Colorado, also teaching music. She then served in pastoral ministry, using her musical skills and training leadership in 16 parishes.

She lent her musical talents to life in the Brazil mission, before returning to the U.S. as a pastoral minister in a public housing complex, being a presence to the residents and often helping out moving furniture.

Sister Rita Claire has served on the pastoral staff at Dooley Center, provided home care, and lived in the Benedictine monastery at Red Plains, Oklahoma for a time.

At the monastery, she handles purchasing of items needed by the Sisters and recycling. She loved to read, and is known for her embroidery.
