I taught at Mount St. Scholastica College and Benedictine College for several years. I am a past president of the Catholic Biblical Association. I have written several books: Sing a New Song: The Responsorial Psalm in the Sunday Liturgy; Women in the Old Testament; Numbers; and Pleading Cursing, Praising: Conversing with God through the Psalms, all published by Liturgical Press, and 101 Questions and Answers on Angels and Devils, published by Paulist Press. I have also written commentaries on Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther and Jonah, Tobit, and Judith. All are published by Liturgical Press. My most recent book is Wisdom: The Good Life. I was an editor for Give Us This Day, was on the editorial board of Worship, and also wrote regularly for other biblical and liturgical periodicals. I was also a member of the Committee on Illuminations and Texts for the Saint John’s Bible.
