July 20 | Tuesday 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CST
Welcoming Prayer is a practice that complements and extends the effects of Centering Prayer practice into the activities of everyday life, continuing the work of transformation in Christ. Welcoming Prayer is a way of consenting to God’s presence and action in both our physical and emotional reactions to events and situations of daily life. The purpose of practicing Welcome Prayer is to deepen our relationship with God through consenting in the ordinary activities of our days. You can think of it as “consent on the go”. We invite you to join us as we explore how Welcoming Prayer can enrich our lives and grow deeper in our prayer practice.
This three-hour workshop will include a presentation, discussion, and practice of the Welcoming Prayer method. There will be periodic breaks throughout the three hours. Persons with an established practice of Centering Prayer are likely to benefit the most from this introductory workshop.
*We are also offering a series of Zoom gatherings in August in which we will be practicing Welcoming and Centering prayer. It will be a great follow-up for those who desire to build a more regular habit of practice. Click here for more information.
