She received a Master’s degree in Religious Education in 1982 and her Doctor of Ministry in 2017 from Seattle University.  After she graduated from the Souljourners Spiritual Direction Formation Program in 2005\, she joined the Souljourners staff. Currently\, Mary Kay is a part of the Souljourners leadership team. She provides spiritual direction and supervision\, and leads a variety of retreats for Sophia Center.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDebbie Carmody\n\n\n\nDebbie is retired after 28 years in pastoral ministry at Good Shepherd Parish in Shawnee\, Kansas. She has a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Loyola—New Orleans.

DESCRIPTION:Happy feast of St. Nicholas\, a bishop remembered for quiet generosity and compassionate leadership. Living in the fourth century\, St. Nicholas used his inheritance to support struggling families\, protect vulnerable children\, and offer help without seeking praise. Many of the legends surrounding him reflect his deep concern for human dignity and his steady trust in God’s providence. His life reminds us that holiness often grows through small\, hidden acts of mercy. As Advent continues\, may St. Nicholas encourage us to give with cheerful hearts\, care for those who are overlooked\, and bring a sense of wonder and hope to others.
