A Contemplative Retreat with Julian of Norwich (Week 2 of 4)
January 14, 2025 @ 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm CST
Julian of Norwich was an Anchorite in England beginning in 1390 CE and was the first known woman to write in English. We know very little about Julian herself, yet her work, Revelations of Divine Love, is well known and continues to be published, studied, and read by people today.
We invite you to join with others in learning about Julian and her beautiful and timeless work, Revelations of Divine Love. In our first session we will learn a bit about Julian’s life and times and introduce some of the themes in Revelations of Divine Love. During the following three sessions we will look at specific passages from Revelations of Divine Love and use them as a guide for individual contemplation, prayer, and small and large group sharing. Scripture passages, poems, and music will also be introduced to show the timelessness of this spiritual work devoted to Divine Love.
