As dusk fell over the monastery, the Sisters and guests gathered in the dining room, while the Paschal fire was lit and blessed on the patio among the spring flowers. Then, as each person’s candle was lit, a procession began to St. Scholastica Chapel, where the Easter Vigil was celebrated with the readings recounting the history of God’s chosen people, and the sounding of the Alleluia after the solemnity of the Lenten season.
Afterward, the celebration continued in the dining room, with treats and lively conversation.
