On Sunday, October 27, Benedictine College re-dedicated their renovated science building, Westerman Hall. In the renovation, there are rooms dedicated to many of the sisters who taught in math and science from the earliest days of Mount St. Scholastica College. Some of them were pioneers who were among the first women in the area to receive advanced degrees in science in the 1920s and 30s. Some also have their pictures among those of notable former professors in the main lobby of the building. Sisters honored with rooms are Sisters Anthony Payne, Eva Halassey, Adelaide Leuschen, John Marie Brazzell, JoAnn Fellin, Malachy Kennedy and Helen Sullivan. Others will have their names listed elsewhere in the building.
