Centering Prayer Weekend Retreat (on-site)

  • by

February 4-5 | Friday, 6:00 p.m.-Saturday, 4:00 p.m. CST

Facilitated by Rev. Rob Carr and Rev. Dr. Dennie Oades, both trained presenters of centering prayer and members of Contemplative Outreach, founded by Fr. Thomas Keating
Cost: $150 (includes private room and meals)

“We are invited to be God’s intimate companions and sharers of the divine nature. The issue is whether we’ll consent.  That’s all we have to do, ultimately–allow ourselves to be loved unconditionally, and so be empowered to meet the real needs of everyone in the human family, past, present, and to come.” —Father Thomas Keating

Join us for a soulfully rich time of silent consent to the presence and activity of God in the deepest center of your being. This silent retreat will be supported by several periods of centering prayer, shared times of prayerful worship, and a time for discussion/questions regarding the method of centering prayer.

Those with experience of centering prayer as well as those new to this prayer method are welcome. A brief introductory overview of centering prayer will be offered at the beginning of the retreat.

Please register by January 26. Once we have received your registration, we will send you an invoice for the retreat. Please know we have scholarships available; if you would like to make a request, email S. Carol Ann at sophia@mountosb.org. We strongly encourage you to add sophia@mountosb.org to your email contacts to ensure the delivery of emails regarding your retreat. We look forward to welcoming you in person.

This retreat is being offered in partnership with Contemplative Outreach of Kansas City. Retreat facilitators will be Rev. Dr. Dennie Oades, retired United Methodist clergywoman, and Rev. Rob Carr, retired pastor (Disciples of Christ).
