Keeler Women's Center honors departing foundress

The Keeler Women’s Center will honor foundress Sister Carol Ann Petersen with an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Center, 2220 Central, Kansas City, Kan.

Keeler, with its mission of empowering women in the urban core of Kansas City through education, advocacy and personal and spiritual development, is a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kan.

Sister Carol Ann has been appointed director of the Sophia Spirituality Center, another of the Mount St. Scholastica ministries. The  Sophia Center is grounded in the rich monastic tradition of prayer and hospitality, and welcomes persons of all faiths who are searching for God, for peace and for meaning. The center offers programs and retreats that foster spiritual and personal growth.
