Keeler Women’s Center, Ten Thousand Villages partner in fundraiser
Percentage of purchases go to Keeler Nov. 16 to 22
You can cross a few gifts off your holiday shopping list and benefit one of the Mount St. Scholastica ministries at the same time with a stop at Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park just before Thanksgiving.
Keeler Women’s Center will receive a donation amounting to 15 percent of the sale when shoppers present the coupon above when checking out at the Overland Park store, 7947 Santa Fe Drive, from Monday, Nov. 16, to Sunday, Nov. 22.
The partnership with the fair trade retailer is a natural match for the Keeler Women’s Center, said Sister Carol Ann Petersen, the Keeler Center’s director.
Fair trade gives artisans around the globe an opportunity to earn income and improve their quality of life by providing a sustainable market for their goods. Many of the artisans are women.
For its part, Keeler’s mission is to empower women in the urban core of Kansas City through education, advocacy, personal and spiritual development. In essence, both groups are empowering women.
Goods available at the Ten Thousand Villages store in Overland Park range from jewelry and accessories to home accents, wall décor and gifts.
