Mount employees honored at annual picnic

     The Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica honored Terry Brown and Mike Hopkins for 25 years of service to the Mount during the monastery’s annual employee service awards picnic on May 25.

      Both Brown and Hopkins work in the maintenance department.

      In addition, Dooley Center charge nurse Kathy Curry was honored for 20 years of service.

      “As a community we are blessed with having the employees that we have,” said Sister Anne Shepard, prioress. “Those who have served for decades, such as Terry, Mike and Kathy, are most noteworthy. All three have come to the rescue when we have had emergencies. All are friendly, courteous, competent and do their work with a smile. They share our Benedictine values and we appreciate them.”

Other honorees are:

  • 15 years of service: Elaine McGuire, switchboard; Debbie Wolters, food service
  • 10 years of service: Bill Caylor, maintenance; Lois Chapin, CNA/CMA, Dooley Center
  • Five years of service: Tracy Cash, food service; Bridgit McGuire, food service; Montica Minard, CNA, Dooley Center; Kelsey Reynolds, CNA, Dooley Center; Amy Rule, CNA, Dooley Center; Alison Simpson, accounting.
