Sister Jerome was dean of Mount St. Scholastica College for many years. She founded Donnelly Junior College in Kansas City, Kansas, Lillis High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and LeBlond High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She wrote in the field of education and French scholarship. Sister Jerome was a native of Maryville, Missouri.

Sister Mildred headed the sociology department at Mount St. Scholastica College. Later she was the first prioress of a convent established by the Benedictine Sisters at Mexico City, where she founded Collegio Gaudalupe, an academy for girls.

(1910-2001)
Sister Chrysostom was an artist and musician. She taught music at Mount St. Scholastica College and then at Benedictine College. She received her master's degree in 1950 from the Kansas City Conservatory of Music. She taught piano at The Mount Conservatory of Music in Atchison, Kansas, and painted as a hobby.

Sister Immaculata was an Atchison native. She served on the Committee on Affiliation at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. 1938-1940. She was professor of education at Mount St. Scholastica College and supervisor of the schools staffed by the Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica in the 1940's and 1950's.

Sister Maria taught French, Spanish, and Latin for ten years at Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison, Kansas. She spent nearly three years working in Peru and studying in Brazil and Colombia and then, upon her return to the United States, taught briefly at the secondary level. She taught in the modern and classical foreign language department of Benedictine College until 1998.

SISTER GEORGIA McGARRY, O.S.B. (1938-1994) Sister Georgia was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Teacher, scholar, writer, she earned a doctorate in history with research in Africa and the British Isles enhancing her studies at Temple University. She taught at elementary, secondary, and college levels and served as academic dean at Benedictine College from 1987 through May, 1994.

Sister Bonaventure was a scholar and educator. She was registrar for four years at Mount St. Scholastica College and a teacher for 58 years in this four-state area and Colorado. Exceptionally capable, she taught almost every subject in the high school curriculum.

SISTER M. IRENE NOWELL, O.S.B. (1940-
Sister M. Irene Nowell was a professor and administrator at Benedictine College for several years. Since 1994 she has been director of ongoing formation at the Mount. She is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Theology at St. John's University. She has done considerable work in translation. She was a member of the committee that translated the psalms for ICEL (the International Committee for English in the Liturgy) and the translation team that revised the Old Testament of the New American Bible. She is an associate editor of The Bible Today and of Worship. She also gives retreats and lectures throughout the country.

SISTER JEANETTE OBRIST, O.S.B. (1901-1985)
Sister Jeanette was a professor of mathematics, 1941-62, at Mount St. Scholastica College, where she also taught physics, botany and zoology. She taught at Dunbarton College, Washington, D.C. in the summer of 1947. From 1962-83, she was a supervisor of maintenance at Mount St. Scholastica Convent. She held memberships in the Mathematical Association of America, the American Physics Association, and the American Botanical Society. She was a member of the board of directors of Mount St. Scholastica College and served as an elected member of the Mount St. Scholastica Community Council 1967-70.

SISTER BRIGIDA O'CONNOR, O.S.B. (1910-1990).
Sister Brigida was born in Nodaway County, Missouri. She taught in both elementary and secondary schools of Kansas and Iowa. She served as administrator in schools of Colorado and New Mexico. She transferred membership from Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kansas, to Benet Hill Priory in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1956.

Sister Angela was born in Brunswick, Missouri. She taught home economics at LeBlond High School in St. Joseph, Missouri and at Mount St. Scholastica College. Presently she teaches a course at Benedictine College and is dietitian for Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas.
