SISTER ROSE ANGELA FARRELL, O.S.B. (1907-1985)
Sister Rose Angela was a native of Atchison, Kansas. She taught in schools in Colorado, Iowa, and Kansas and after 1956 continued teaching in California where she had transferred to St. Lucy's Priory in Glendora.

SISTER FLORENCE FEENEY, O.S.B. (1893-1967)
Sister Florence was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Her early years were spent teaching in Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. She was appointed librarian of Mount St. Scholastica College in 1933. She was co-founder of the Midwest Unit of the Catholic Library Association and cooperated in the compilation of the Catholic Periodical Index.

SISTER JO ANN FELLIN, O.S.B. (1934-

Sister Jo Ann was born in Marshfield, Missouri. She taught in elementary school, high school, and at Mount St. Scholastica College. She remained teaching at the college at the time of the merger of Mount St. Scholastica College with St. Benedict's College to form Benedictine College. Currently a emeritus professor at Benedictine College, having taught in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science for over 30 years. She has been active professionally in the Mathematical Association of America, Kappa Mu Epsilon, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She initiated the Kansas City Region Women and Math program and coordinated the program for eight years.

Sister Mary Maud was an elementary teacher in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado. In 1971 she began library work inBenedictine College. She was a native of Chicago, Illinois.

SISTER MADONNA GAMPPER, O.S.B. (1930-1972)
Sister Madonna was born in Hiawatha, Kansas. Her life was dedicated to teaching and counseling in the convent staffed schools in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Colorado, but chiefly at Mount St. Scholastica College. She chaired the psychology department and was director of guidance and counseling at the College. She was certified as a psychologist in the State of Kansas in 1969. From 1968-1970 she taught psychology at the Kansas Penitentiary in Lansing, Kansas.

SISTER THERESE MARIE GASSMAN, O.S.B. (1902-1997)
Sister Therese Marie was from St. Mary's, Kansas. An educator for more than fifty years, she held high professional standards. She taught English, Latin, history, and always music.

SISTER PHILOMENE GLOTZBACH, O.S.B. (1927-
Sister Philomene grew up on a farm in Paxico, Kansas. She was a primary teacher for fifty-two years. As an enrichment for the students, she also taught German for the past thirty-five years.

Sister Mary Paul immigrated from Bavaria, Germany. She became a teacher at Mount St. Scholastica College.

Sister Evelyn was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and grew up near Agency. She taught in St. Joseph, Kansas City, Kansas, Topeka, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Lenexa, Kansas. She has served as formation director at Mount St. Scholastica, and currently she coordinates an extension of Sophia Center, Atchison, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Sister Agnes had a varied career: teacher, principal, dean of women at Mount St. Scholastica College, guest mistress at Mount St. Scholastica. She kept diaries and album after album of photos with careful and interesting annotations.

SISTER EVA HALASEY, O.S.B. (1895-1971)

Sister Eva was born in Maryville, Missouri. She was one of the first women resident students at St. Louis University when she began her graduate work in 1928. She started the Mount St. Scholastica College chemistry department and encouraged study and writing at the Mount. In later years she taught in Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas.

SISTER REGINA HANSEN, O.S.B. (1919-2007)

Sister Regina was a secondary school teacher and also taught in Donnelly College. In addition she was the curriculum coordinator and principal of the DeLaSalle Education Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and project director of the National Diffusion Network there. She held the chair of the English department, Bethlehem University, West Bank. She was a Fulbright professor of English and American literature, Mansoura University, Egypt, and a visiting professor of English education at Kaohsiung Teachers College, Taiwan. Sister Regina received grants for study and travel in India; research in England, and for publications on literature and education. She was a site visitor and on the review panel for the Blue Ribbons Schools Program. She held various offices in the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs and the Kansas City Council for Higher Education. She was also a member of the evaluation corps for the North Central Accreditation Association. She is a native of Pueblo, Colorado.

Sister Bertilla was an elementary and high school teacher and principal. She came from Purcell, Kansas.

SISTER LILLIAN HARRINGTON, O.S.B. (1918-

Sister Lillian taught in elementary and secondary schools in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Colorado. She also taught at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. Presently she does pastoral work through Sophia Center in Atchison and as a pilgrim minister she trains liturgical ministers and gives days of retreat and reflection for various groups. She also holds classes for the Institute of Religious Studies of Benedictine College in Biblical Storytelling for Teachers and Gospel Values though Film. She was chosen to represent the community in Benedictine Elders by Mark McGinnis. Sister Lillian was born near Blaine, Kansas.

Sister Celeste was born in Belgium, Wisconsin and moved with her parents to a farming community near Wichita, Kansas. She was teacher, principal and administrator of schools with both elementary and secondary programs. In 1962, she was elected prioress of Mount St. Scholastica.

Sister Linda was born in Washington, Missouri. Sister Dolores was born at Burlington, Kansas. Having taught briefly at Blaine, Kansas, she became an instructor at Mount St. Scholastica Academy, 1938-49, then served Lillis High School, Kansas City, Missouri, for twenty-eight years, first as instructor, later as principal. In 1979, she was employed as vice principal of De La Salle Education Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

Sister Karlene was a native of Burlington, Kansas. A music and piano teacher, she taught in parochial schools in Kansas and Missouri. She was the first sister to earn a degree at Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. Kansas. She held a degree from the Kansas City Conservatory of Music and was chair of the department of music at Mount St. Scholastica College.

SISTER JOACHIM HOLTHAUS, O.S.B. (1922-

A native of Seneca, Kansas, Sister Joachim did post-doctoral work at Columbia University, New York, at the University of Salzburg, Austria, and received a sabbatical at Oxford University and the Royal Academy of Music, London. Professor in the music department of Mount St. Scholastica College and of Benedictine College as chairman of the department, she also taught for five summers at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, New York. She taught Fine Arts to the prisoners at the Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. Participating in civic activities, she is a board member of the Atchison Community Concerts Association, has been campaign manager for many years, and served as president for one term. She was the first woman in Kansas to become a member of the Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International. She was Educator of the Year at Benedictine College and received the Gold Rose with Ruby awarded by Sigma Alpha Iota. She is listed in World Who's Who of Musicians. Sister Joachim is a member of the American Musicological Society, The American Harp Society, Sigma Alpha Iota, Rotary International, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She is the founder of the Mount Conservatory of Music in Atchison, KS.

HOMAN, SISTER THOMASITA, O.S.B. (1938-

Sister Thomasita received her BA in Education from Mount St. Scholastica College and her MA in English from Iowa State University. She taught in the English Department at Benedictine College from 1979 to 2008. Previously, she had taught elementary school in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Iowa and had been Formation Director and Scholastic Director in her community. She has served as a faculty consultant for Advanced Placement Evaluations and as an educational consultant in several international schools. Sister Thomasita has done editorial work for the "Collegiate English Handbook,""American Benedictine Review,""Benedictines,"the Armed Forces, and "Loomings."

SISTER NORMA HONZ, O.S.B. (1920-

Sister Norma was born in Dunlap, Iowa. Her teaching career spanned rural country schools in Iowa to elementary, secondary and college classes in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado. She retired from teaching in 1989.
