Threshold Winter 2011
From the Desk Of Sister Mary Agnes
You and I have gifts and talents we want to share. Maybe we consider our gifts hidden or unrecognized but we do have special gifts God has given to us for the benefit of others. You share your gifts, time and talent with our community. For this we are most grateful. Without the help and generosity of so many good friends we would not have a successful Night of Dreams each year. Thanks again for your support.
Our sisters have many talents and they share them so readily with others. We all have the opportunity to share our gifts of teaching, cooking, organizing, landscaping, administrating, nursing, and countless others ways each day. This year 16 sisters entered the Atchison County Fair and won 39 ribbons. In this issue you will see pictures of a few of them with their award winning handmade gifts. These and other handmade items by the sisters are available in our gift shop and are very popular at the Night of Dreams. Even our eldest member, Sister Jeanne Marie Blacet, 97, contributes beautiful counted cross stitch wall hangings for the community’s use. The sisters are happy to be able to share their gifts with others.
Whatever our talents and gifts God wants us to use them for others. Sister Jeremy Dempsey does not pride herself on handwork but she is able to weave words with much talent. The day after the prizes were announced she composed a poem and I pass it along for your enjoyment. (See page 19) She won a blue ribbon from us for her poem.
Thanks for using your talents for the building of God’s kingdom on this earth at this time in history. God bless you.
