St. Perpetua

St. Perpetua, one of the seven women mentioned in Eucharistic Prayer I of the Mass, is shown with a crucifix in her hand to symbolize her desire to suffer for the love of Christ. The young mother was martyred with St. Felicitas. The two swords commemorate their death by stabbing after an attack by wild animals in the arena.
