Night Of Dreams
2004 - Mega Raffle
August 15, 2004
Dear Friends,
We Benedictine Sisters hope that you had time to relax and to energize
your spirit this summer. In a few weeks you will be receiving a letter
from Sister Mary Collins giving you an update on our own busy summer
and an account of our activities at the Mount.
Believe it or not, it’s time to gear up for the Night
of Dreams,
which will be Sunday, November 14, at the KCI-EXPO Center near the KCI
airport.
Taking our cue from a few of our friends, we are launching a MEGA raffle
this year. The grand prize is either a 2005 Acura RSX or a Harley - Davidson
or $15,000 cash.
The next level of prizes will be a round of golf for 4. This prize will
be drawn four times to include foursomes with well-known sports figures
from the Kansas City area. The times with these pros and the golf fees
at the National are generous donations to us.
At past dinner/auctions, we had a 50/50 raffle where members of the development
advisory board sold a limited number of tickets beforehand, but many
guests at the dinner last year remarked that they wish they also had
had the opportunity to have their names in the drawing. So this year
we will sell chances that night. However, since we realize many of you
cannot join us at the event, you could still help us make the raffle
a huge success and perhaps win a terrific prize by purchasing a ticket
or the book of tickets that we have enclosed. For each ticket, three
people may contribute $35 each, two people $50 each, or one person -
$100. We will be grateful if you purchase one ticket. If you sell the
other four, that will be great.
Be assured that every dollar of the proceeds from both the raffle and
the Night of Dreams are used to fund our outreach ministries.
God bless you for the many ways you support us. You are remembered in
our prayers.
Sincerely,
S. Anne Shepard, OSB
Director of Development
P.S. Your chances of winning a national or state lottery are anywhere
from 2 million to 32 million. Here your chances of winning the Mount
drawing are exponentially greater!
