Ave Maria: Offertory antiphon (Mode 8) of the Mass from which the Introit below is taken. it is an example of a very melismatic chant.

Hodie Christus
:
A Christmas motet by Luigi Picchi, published in Italy. This favorite is sung every Christmas Eve at the Mount.

The following pieces are also available on the CD:

Salve Sancta Par ens: Introit for feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The composition, (Mode 2) follows the form prescribed with its antiphon, psalm verse, gloria, and repetition of the antiphon.

Kyrie Deus Genitor aime: A simple Kyrie (Mode 4) which is used primarily for ferial days during Advent and Lent.

Kyrie Lux et origo:
Kyrie I (Mode 8) used for the Paschal Season.

Kyrie Cum jubilo: A festive, floriod Kyrie (Mode 1) assigned primarily for feasts of the Blessed Virgin.

Sanctus & Agnus Dei IX: These are assigned to the Cum jubilo Mass with the above Kyrie.

Alleluia: Tu es Petrus
:
Alleluia and verse are from the Common of Sovereign Pontiffs. The melody of the Alleluia (Mode 2) is a frequently used one which appears especially in the Christmas and Epiphany seasons.

Tu es Petrus: A Communion verse (Mode 6), this antiphon is very brief and utilizes a very common cadence formula.

Veni Sancte Spiritus: One of only five sequences that appear in the Liber Usuali, this is a perfect example of the couplet form of sequence composition. It appears in the Mass for Pentecost.

Cogitationes: An Introit in Mode 5, this work comes from the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a feast established quite late in the history of the Church.

Gaudeamus: An Introit in Mode 1, the festiveness of this composition makes it suitable for various occasions. It appears here in the form used for the Feast of All Saints, November 1, but it is essentially the same, melodically and textually, for other days such as December 8, the Immaculate Conception, and for the feast days of St. Thomas, St. Anne, the Assumption, etc.

Omnes Gentes: An Introit (Mode 6) expressive of its text (Clap your hands, all you people), this is a very short, two-line antiphon for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost.
