On Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Keeler Women’s Center was honored by K-State Research and Extension of Wyandotte County with the 2009 Extension Apprecation Award for service and dedication to Kansas Cooperative Extension programs.

In making the presentation, Bruce Chladny, County Extension Director, noted, “For over five years the Keeler Women’s Center has partnered with the Wyandotte Extension Office to create positive change in the young people and families of our community. Programs such as the nutrition classes with Master Food Volunteer Pat Callaghan, Cleaning 101, Couples Talk, Balancing Family and Work, Growing Pretty Flowers 101, and Family Change/Separation/Divorce have helped educate young parents and single moms about the importance of making healthy choices when it comes to diet, exercise, and life.”
