Sister Prima Müller died at Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kans., June 2, 2002. Vigil service will be Monday, June 3, at 7 pm in the monastery choir chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be offered there Tuesday, June 4, at 10:30 am.
Born in Gebelsee, Germany in 1907, Sister Prima (Katharine) was the daughter of Aloysius and Mary Scharl Müller. She came to the U.S. in 1927 and made her monastic profession in 1929. She gave hospitable domestic service to sisters and students, befriending many at St. Benedict's College, Atchison; at Donnelly College, and at Kinney Heights, Kansas City, Kans.; at Bishop Lillis High School, Kansas City, Mo.; and at schools and convents in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. Stationed at the monastery since 1973, she continued her work and her hobbies of reading and making bobbin lace until recent years. Her parents, three brothers, a sister in Germany, and Sister Crescentia of Clyde, Mo., preceded her in death. She is survived by five nieces in Bavaria.
